While you are here visit the Chimney Rock ruins which is about 40 miles away from here. They do daily tours.
One of America’s newest National Monuments – a place of mystery, a sacred place, a celestial observatory and seasonal calendar for the Ancestral Puebloans over 1,000 years ago. Chimney Rock is a place of unparalleled natural beauty sitting on a high mesa at the southern edge of the San Juan Mountains and on the National Register of Historic Places since 1970.
There is also Mesa Verde which is a larger scale of Indian Ruins and it will take you about 2 hours to get there. They have tours or ruins that you can tour on your own.
